August 2022 Progress Update
We’re continuing to make progress toward running our first experiments.
In August we:
Welcomed Katie Gipe to the team, and one other scientist who will be joining in October (as yet unnamed!)
Hosted our first team offsite in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
Set up our first fully operational lab
Ran our first experiment and started building gene libraries for our initial discovery campaigns
Our first human T cell samples arrived, ready to be reprogrammed.
Started our first modeling tasks, reproducing state-of-the-art methods for gene perturbation prediction, collecting relevant datasets, and designing data-preprocessing tools in various repos.
Published our operating plan (in the open) for candidates to read. We’re planning to operate much more in the open than a traditional biotech would - we hope it helps attract the right talent.
